About Cruise Critic 4U
Cruise Critic 4U is a cruise review platform built around one rule: no cruise line, port, or excursion operator can pay for placement, a higher score, or a "recommended" badge. Ever.
What we're building
Every review on the platform will require a verified booking before it can publish. We're building a scoring system — the "Cruise Score" — that weights recent, verified, detailed reviews more heavily than a raw star average, so a ship's rating actually reflects what recent passengers experienced.
Alongside reviews, we're building an editorial section: articles about ships, ports, and the practical realities of cruising (hidden fees, cabin trade-offs, what the fare does and doesn't cover), written by people who've actually sailed, not generated to rank for keywords.
What's live today
Two things are live right now: the favorite-ship vote on the homepage — pick a cruise line and ship, leave a first name and last initial, no email or account required, and see how your pick stacks up on the public leaderboard — and the 40-article library covering ports, ships, and the practical realities of cruising.
Still in development: the verified-booking review database and the Cruise Score system described above. We won't publish scores or claim review numbers before that's real and working.
Who's behind it
Cruise Critic 4U is an independent project, not affiliated with any cruise line or existing review site. Questions about who runs it or how it'll be funded are fair ones — reach out on the contact page and we'll answer directly.
